Marian blanked Shenandoah in a JV football game while Tamaqua stayed unbeaten in middle school action.

JV FOOTBALLMarian-ShenandoahMarian cruised to a 34-0 victory over Shenandoah Valley.The Colts scored in all three phases of the game. Malik Zver returned the second half kickoff 80-yards for a touchdown and also found the end zone on a 55-yard run.Aaron Adams did it on defense for the Colts, with 55 and 24-yard interception returns for scores. Michael Dubravski, who had 15 tackles, also had a 44-yard run for a TD.M.S. FOOTBALLMahanoy Area-TamaquaThe Blue Raiders scored 38 points in the middle quarters and rolled to a 52-12 win over the Golden Bears.Nate Boyle scored on runs of 28 and 66 yards, while Mike Bollentino also ran for a 53-yard touchdown.Matt Kistler caught two touchdown passes from Braydon Knobluach for 24 and 65 yards. Boyle caught a 58-yard TD pass from Knoblauch, who also caught a 76-yard TD pass from Boyle.Boyle surpassed the 1,000-yard mark on the season.YOUTH FOOTBALLJT-MinersvilleThe Jim Thorpe Olympian Booster Club Mini youth football team defeated Minersville, 16-0, in Tri-County Midget Football League quarterfinal round playoff action.It was the program's first playoff win since joining the league in 2011.Ryan Fikentscher and Marcus Drakeford scored the Jim Thorpe touchdowns.The Olympians will face Hazleton in the league semifinals on Sunday at 12 p.m. in Frackville.
