Wilbur G. Warner, Lehighton postmaster and civic leader, and one of the prime movers for the project, left a sick bed today to turn the first spade of earth at 9:30 a.m. to break ground for Lehighton's new $300,000 armory building. Warner had been under treatment at Bethesda Naval Hospital and returned home last night. Mahlon Kistler Sr. presided at the brief ceremony and introduced the speakers George Freeby and William Garrett, also members of the Armory Board.
