Palmerton senior Toby Sander will continue his education and football career at Wilkes Univesity in the fall.
Sander was a wide receiver and defensive back for the Blue Bombers for four years and also returned kickoffs and punts.This past season, he caught 13 passes for 185 yards for one touchdown, averaging 14.2 yards per reception.He also returned two kickoffs for back-to-back touchdowns in the first game of the season. In 10 games, he returned 19 kicks for 468 yards and received the Special Teams MVP Award.On defense, Sander had 67 tackles (46 solo, 21 assisted) for an average of 6.7 a game. He also had two interceptions and 10 pass deflections.His parents are Michael Sander and Susan Bankes.Sander also plays baseball.He will major in Engineering.
