May 6, 1983 - Tamaqua's 800 and 1600 relay teams both gain first-place finishes to help the Blue Raider boys capture the championship of the Schuylkill County Relays. The 800 team of Dave Keich, Mo Myers, Glen Cosmiac and John Myers break the tape in 1:35.0, while the 1600 foursome of Joe Kabana, Jeff Bronsky, John Appicello and Keich win their event in 3:35.2. The 3200 team of Kabana, Appicello, Jim Shumgart and Bob Gilfert finishes second, but sets a new school record of 8:29.3.
