September 1, 1990 - Mike Makovec completes 9-of-12 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown to help lead Marian to a 29-13 victory over Wilkes-Barre Meyers in its season opener. Makovec opens the scoring by hitting his brother Mark with a 32-yard TD strike. The Colts' quarterback breaks free for a 36-yard scoring run in the second quarter to extend the lead. The winners, coached by Stan Dick (Dakosty), also receive touchdown runs from Brian Rafferty and A.J. Serina.
