GFWC Western Pocono Women's Club make Quilts for Kids

The ladies of the GFWC Western Pocono Women's Club recently made 20 quilts for the Pocono Chapter of "Quilts for Kids."

The quilts will be distributed to hospitals and international orphanages for children with Aids, cancer, and life-threatening illnesses. Quilts for Kids will be an on ongoing project of the club.The object of the Western Pocono Women's Club is to develop the educational, civic, and social interests of members and to advance the welfare of the community.GFWC (General Federation Women's Club) is one of the world's largest and oldest women's volunteer service organizations. The members have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, exchange ideas, and form lifelong friendships. The GFWC Western Pocono Women's Club has been serving the West End community for almost 40 years.GFWC Western Pocono Women's Club meets on the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Effort United Methodist Church in Effort, PA during the months of March through December. Membership in the club is open to women 18 years or older seeking to help their community.
