Northern Lehigh graduate Ty Herzog will be wrestling in the NCAA Division III wrestling championships, which begin Friday.
Herzog, a 157-pounder at Roger Williams College, earned a third-place finish at the Northeast Regionals to qualify for the NCAAs.The former Bulldog won his first three bouts at regionals before falling to eventual champion Robert Dierna (state University of New York) in the semifinals. Herzog rebounded with a victory over Coast Guard Academy's Christoper Sullivan to punch his ticket to nationals.During the tournament, Herzog also set a new school record for most career takedowns with 511.Herzog, a two-time state medalist in high school, was the Times News Wrestler of the Year for the 2012-13 season.
