Rider University women's basketball coach Lynn Milligan was recently named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women's Coach of the Year for the 2016-17 season.

Milligan was a unanimous selection and is the first Rider women's basketball coach to win the award.Now in her 10th season at Rider, Milligan guided her team to 24 wins this season, including 16 in conference play. The Broncs finished in second place in the MAAC after being predicted to finish in 10th place in the preseason coaches pole.Milligan is the daughter of Tamaqua native and Marian High School graduates Bill "Angel" Donovan and Maureen Yorke Donovan.
