Firefighters battled through the night and into Saturday morning as five to six buildings were destroyed by fire in Minersville, Schuylkill County. The fire was first reported at 3 a.m. and by the time fire companies from throughout the county arrived on scene the former Wynn Ann Restaurant at 100 Sunbury street was fully involved in flames. The flames quickly spread to 102, 104, 106 and 108 Sunbury street. Firemen used aerial ladders to attack the flames leaping from the roofs of the structures. Sunbury street, also SR901 was closed to traffic throughout the morning.
