FT Maroon posts pair of PVLL tourney wins
Franklin Township Maroon posted a pair of wins in the Panther Valley Little League tournament on Tuesday.
Maroon edged Franklin Township Gray in a suspended game before defeating Lansford, and will now face undefeated Tri-County tonight in a key matchup.PVLL 11-12 TOURNEYFT Gray-FT MaroonAustin Greene and AJ Light combined on a two-hit shutout as Franklin Township Marian blanked Franklin Township Gray, 3-0.Greene started and tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings, while Light relieved and went 4 1/3 innings without giving up a hit and striking out three.Josh Steigerwalt had a hit and two RBIs for the winners, and Michael Yeakel contributed two hits and a run scored. Michael Bowman and Aiden Rarick each had doubles.Lansford-FT MaroonJosh Steigerwalt hit a home run and knocked in three runs to help Franklin Township Maroon roll to a 17-1 victory over Lansford.Ian Rarick added three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored for FT, which scored seven runs in the first inning and eight in the second.Brady O'Donnell contributed a hit, two runs, and a pair of RBIs, while Michael Yeakel and Aiden Rarick both finished with a hit, two runs, and an RBI.
