Numerous elected positions on the borough, township and school district levels are up for grabs in 2019.

The Democratic and Republican parties will nominate people for those positions in the primary election scheduled for May 21, with the municipal election reserved on the calendar for Nov. 5.

To have their names placed on each parties’ ballots, a candidate must obtain 10 signatures on petitions that can be circulated from Feb. 19 to March 12.

To be filled by the electorate this time around are the following:

Townships

Banks Township: one supervisor for a six-year term, and one auditor for a six-year term.

East Penn Township: one supervisor for a six-year term; one supervisor for a four-year term; one auditor for a two-year term; one auditor for a four-year term; and one auditor for a six-year term.

Franklin Township: one supervisor for a six-year term; and one auditor for a six-year term.

Kidder Township: one supervisor for a four-year term; one supervisor for a six-year term; and one auditor for a six-year term.

Lausanne Township: one supervisor for a six-year term; and one auditor for a six-year term.

Lehigh Township: one supervisor for a six-year term; one auditor for a two-year term; and one auditor for a six-year term.

Lower Towamensing Township: one supervisor for a six-year term; and one auditor for a six-year term.

Mahoning Township: two supervisors for six-year terms; and one auditor for a six-year term.

Packer Township: one supervisor for a two-year term; one supervisor for a four-year term; one supervisor for a six-year term; and one auditor for a six-year term.

Penn Forest Township: two supervisors for six-year terms; one auditor for a two-year term; and one auditor for a six-year term.

Towamensing Township: one supervisor for a six-year term; one auditor for a six-year term; and one auditor for a six-year term.

Boroughs

Beaver Meadows Borough: four council members for four-year terms.

Bowmanstown Borough: one mayor for a two-year term; one council member for a two-year term; and three council members for four-year terms.

East Side Borough: four council members for four-year terms.

Jim Thorpe Borough: three council members for four-year terms.

Lansford Borough: one mayor for a two-year term; and four council members for four-year terms.

Lehighton: four council members for four-year terms.

Nesquehoning: four council members for four-year terms.

Palmerton: one council member for a two-year term; and three council members for four-year terms.

Parryville: two council members for four-year terms.

Summit Hill: one council member for a two-year term; and four council members for four-year terms.

Weatherly: one mayor for a four-year term; and two council members for four-year terms.

Weissport: two council members for four-year terms.

School districts

Jim Thorpe Area School District: four board members for four-year terms.

Lehighton Area School District: five board members for four-year terms.

Palmerton Area School District: five board members for four-year terms.

Panther Valley School District: two board members for two-year terms; and five board members for four-year terms.

Weatherly Area School District: five board members for four-year terms.

Hazleton Area School District: (includes Banks Township and Beaver Meadows from Carbon County) — five board members for four-year terms.
