Carbon County commissioners

Carbon County Commissioners acted on or discussed the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday:

• Approved a proposal from Radio Maintenance Inc. of Reading for the purchase of a new microwave link from the Broad Mountain tower to the Summit Hill tower site at a total cost of $167,015.43.

• Approved a proposal with Geo-Science Engineering and Testing LLC of Jessup to provide geotechnical services — core borings — for the multiuse Emergency Operations and Training Center in Nesquehoning. The cost of the assessment is $7,176 plus reimbursable expenses.

Personnel

• Date of hire correction: Bradley A. Rutz of New Tripoli, part-time dispatcher/trainee, communications center, effective Feb. 20.

• Hire: Scott R. Reynolds of Nesquehoning, part-time dispatcher/trainee, communications center, effective Feb. 19.

• Court appointment: Nancy T. Rivera of Jim Thorpe, part-time administrative assistant, adult probation, effective Feb. 19.

• Change of status: James A. Golding of Jim Thorpe, from special deputy sheriff trainee to special deputy sheriff, retroactive to Feb. 9.
