Rush Township supervisors on Tuesday adopted a 2010 budget that keeps the real estate tax the same as this year.

The tax is at 4.12 mills, meaning the owner of a property with a taxable value of $50,000 will continue to pay $206 a year.The general fund budget calls for $815,950 in revenue and $801,331.35 in expenses.The spending plan incorporates $228,932.93 carried over from this year.Included in the budget is a modest sewer fee increase for Hometown residents. Their bills will increase from $117 a quarter to $130.Supervisors William J. Sanchez Jr. and Shawn Gilbert on Tuesday detailed cuts made to the budget. It was Sanchez' last meeting as supervisor.In a controversial move, the budget calls for reducing the secretary/treasurer and the assistant secretary and assistant treasurer to part-time.The road crew will have two full-time and one part-time employees.Supervisors also cut a $24,000-a-year clerk's job.Supervisors will reorganize on Jan. 4. A time has yet to be scheduled for the meeting.
