A Schuylkill County man who was wanted has been charged with obstructing administration of law.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by patrolman Charles McFeeley Jr. of the Weatherly Borough Police Department:

On March 16, McFeeley and officer Kyle Kaschak of the borough police department interviewed Kaitlyn James about an incident that occurred on March 14 in which a vehicle she owns fled from the borough police department.

James voluntarily came down to the police department to speak with police about the incident, during which time she reported that her boyfriend is Nicholas Schaffer.

After the interview, James then walked back to the her vehicle as police ran Pennsylvania Registration and drove away, at which time police noticed there was male passenger sitting in the vehicle.

Upon return of running the registration, the passenger was identified on the return of his PennDOT photo as Nicholas Garulle, 28, of Barnesville, who was wanted with full extradition out of State Parole.

A marked patrol unit conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle where Garulle was taken into custody.

Garulle would not identify himself to police, only telling them his name was Nicholas, and refused to provide a last name.

James said she was not going to tell police Garulle’s real name, knowing that her boyfriend was wanted.

As a result, James was also then taken into custody.

Garulle faces a charge of obstructing administration of law or other governmental functions.

He is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 10:15 a.m. March 27 before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. of Weatherly.
