Two Monroe County residents were arrested for retail theft recently.

Pocono Mountain Regional police officers responded to the Walmart store in Mt. Pocono about 6:50 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, to a report of a theft incident. An investigation revealed that Natalie Howlett, 44, and Patricia Sanjurjo, 47, both of Tobyhanna, had allegedly taken a Christmas tree from the store and brought the item to the service desk and using an old receipt attempted to exhcange it for $42.40 in cash.Both were charged with criminal conspiracy and theft by deception.
