Tickets for the The Carbon Chamber and Economic Development Corporation's Old Hollywood Red Carpet Gala are still available for Friday night's dinner and dancing event.

The CCEDC will honor four local businesses and three professionals in Carbon County for their dedication and service to the community onFriday, at the dinner for the third year at the Blue Mountain Resort at 1660 Blue Mountain Drive in Palmerton.The focus of the formal attire gala will be on the business and growth happenings in the county and will feature the presentation of awards to local businesses, initiatives and people who have made a significant difference in our communities, CCEDC Executive Director Marlyn Kissner said.At 5:30 p.m. a happy hour will kick off the night with an auction and networking reception.Dinner and the awards program will start at 6:30 p.m. An overview of the CCEDC's 2015-16 accomplishments will be featured, followed by hours of dancing and socializing."The biggest challenge is choosing just one winner for each category," said Member Relations Director Alice Wanamaker."It's fun every year to plan an event that says thank you to our members."An eight-person panel decided on this year's award recipients, recognizing Carbon businesses and professionals in several categories, including: Business of the Year awarded to Kresge Services; Rookie Business of the Year going to Somersault Letterpress; Tourism and Entertainment Business of the Year awarded to Louis and Cyndi Pantages' Nick's Lakehouse, Louie's Prime and Shenanigans; Volunteer of the Year is Joe Cyburt, president of Weatherly Hill Climb; Young Professional of the Year Award, Alicia Kline of Turn to Us; Economic Development Project, Sharps Compliance Inc.; and the William H. Bayer Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes Bob Silver of Lansford Alive."As a bottom-up organization, we look forward to highlighting our local business leaders and businesses that truly are the ones that make this county so great," Kissner said.
