Jim Thorpe girls, Lehighton boys run to wins
The Jim Thorpe girls managed a sweep, while the Lehighton boys stayed unbeaten in cross country competition on Wednesday.
BOYS SOCCERNDES-Jim ThorpeAfter holding a 1-0 lead at the break, Jim Thorpe dropped a heart-breaker to Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg, 2-1.Cody Geiser scored off a feed from Jorge Macareno in the first half to give the Olympians the lead early on. However, Thomas Gallagher scored to tie the game up early in the second half, before his teammate Liam King notched the game-winner.Phil Struble had 12 saves for the Olympians.Palmerton-Saucon Vy.Saucon Valley upended Palmerton in a Colonial League soccer bout, 7-2.Sean Freed and Quinn Tunnell both scored two goals apiece, while Alex Christopher, Noah Thompson and Pat Cyphers all notched individual scores.
