A step has been taken to combat the storm water flooding problems in Palmerton as state Rep. Keith McCall presented the first installment of a $66,000 grant from the state Department of Community Affairs.

The funds will be used to help pay for the Army Corps of Engineers studies.Accepting the check were council President Barry Scherer and council members Kenneth Heiney, Clair Fatzinger and Siegfried Kratzel.
