DUI arrests
State police at Lehighton reported on the following driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers.
On June 9 about 6:35 p.m. troopers observed Kevin James Freeman, of Waretown, N.J., along SR115 at Hullman Road, in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County, stopping his vehicle and grabbing alcoholic beverages from a cooler located in the bed of his 2002 GMC Sonoma truck, and then re-entering the driver's seat. He was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI.On July 16, about 8:30 p.m. troopers stopped Matthew Dowling, 21, of Gilbert, in the area of Fiddletown Road, in Eldred Township, Monroe County, for numerous traffic and equipment violations. He had lost control of his 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle on a dirt road and was found to be under the influence. He was placed in the county prison in Snydersville with charges filed.On July 17 about 7:03 p.m. troopers stopped William T. Johnson Jr., 46, of Effort, along Polk Township Road, north of SR209, in Polk Township, for several vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.On Friday, July 19, about 1:45 a.m. troopers stopped David Matthews, 36, of Nanticoke, along SR209 at Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and failed field sobriety tests.He was also found to be in possession of an illegal substance, troopers noted. He was taken to the county DUI center for a blood test. Charges are pending.Also on Friday, about 8:18 p.m. troopers stopped Joshua William Leslie, 20, of Jim Thorpe, in the area of Pohopoco Drive, near Beltzville Lake entrance, in Franklin Township, Carbon County, for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was placed under arrest.On Saturday, July 20, about 4:36 a.m. troopers stopped Jose Antonio Corripio-Martinez, 32, of Walnutport, along SR248 in Palmerton for vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence. The DUI charge is pending blood test results.Also on Saturday, abut 12:29 a.m. troopers stopped Michael William Drapak, 18, of Saylorsburg, along Weir Lake Road, at the intersection with Meixsell Valley Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County, for several vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.On Sunday, July 21, about 2:28 a.m. troopers stopped Leanne Marie Rivers, 28, of Hackettstown, N.J., along Burger Hollow Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation. She was found to be under the influence. The DUI charge is pending blood test results.Also on Sunday, about 7:40 p.m., Rebecca Ann Urban, 45, of Lehighton, arrived at the barracks in Towamensing Township to report an incident. She was discovered to be DUI suspended and also DUI, troopers said. She was placed under arrest with charges pending.On Monday, July 22, about 12:33 p.m., troopers stopped Brian Patrick Marshall, 27, of Bowmanstown, in the area of state routes 248 and 209, near the McCall bridge, in Franklin Township, for a vehicle code violation. At the stop it was learned Marshall had numerous outstanding warrants. He was also found to be under the influence and in possession of drug paraphernalia.He was placed under arrest with various charges pending.
