Glenn Troutman, Commander of the Lehighton Veterans of Foreign Wars and local president of the United Veterans Organization, raises the American flag during a flag-raising ceremony at Blue Mountain Health Systems' Lehighton campus. Watching is Riley Durishin, a seventh grade student from Lehighton Middle School. Durishin sang the national anthem. The ceremony included a gun salute and the playing of taps. Audience members, which included hospital staff, local veterans, and members of the Lehighton VFW, also offered a moment of silence for those injured and killed at Fort Hood.
