Carbon County commissioners

Carbon County commissioners made a number of personnel moves during the weekly meeting on Thursday.

They include approving:• The employment separations of Jordan E. Behrens of Jim Thorpe, temporary clerk, and Viki M. Hanley of Lehighton, part-time coordinator of records, both in the recorder of deeds office, effective April 28.• The resignation of Kaylie L. Otto of Jim Thorpe, administrative secretary in the tax claim bureau, effective May 13.• The hiring of Gayle M. Gersbach of Easton, aging care manager II, Area Agency on Aging, effective May 11.• The sheriff appointments of Michal C. Boehme of Summit Hill, deputy sheriff; and Cory L. Llewellyn of Saylorsburg and Andrew J. Wenrich of Lehighton, special deputy sheriffs, effective May 9.• The change of status of Tricia L. Gehres of Jim Thorpe, from clerk to administrative secretary, tax claim bureau, effective May 16.Other businessThe Carbon County commissioners also approved a number of actions:• Adopting he updated 2015 Carbon County Hazard Mitigation Plan prepared by Michael Baker International.• An amendment to the Human Services Expenditure Plan redirecting $13,500 from generic services total to Adult Homemaker Services ($2,000); and Housing Case Management Services ($11,500).• A proposal from Jim Thorpe Auto Rentals for the lease of two 15-passenger work/utility vans for the Liquid Fuels Summer program. The lease term is from May 23 to Aug. 12 and will cost Carbon County $6,600.• An agreement for an easement with Nesquehoning regarding county property that adjoins the borough's sewage treatment plant property. A building owned by Nesquehoning sits on a portion of land owned by Carbon County so the motion allows the borough to maintain the position of the building.
