Gary Zedonek tosses a four-hitter and strikes out nine to earn the victory in the first game, a 4-1 win. Bob Popik and Ed Vaz both hit RBI doubles during a three-run fifth inning that snaps a 1-1 tie. Joe Tarconish collects two hits during the contest. In the second game, the Travelers score three times in the home seventh for a 5-4 walk-off win. Run-scoring hits by Steve Yuricheck and Tarconish tie the game, while a bases-loaded walk to Zedonek forces in the winning run. Yuricheck finishes the second game with two hits and two RBIs.
