Four area residents among 14 to enter guilty pleas

Four area residents were among 14 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin this week.

Angela Jill Wagner, 47, of 60 River Road, Tamaqua, criminal use of a communication facility, placed on probation three years, and ordered to pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab and $100 to Schuylkill County Drug Task Force. On a charge of possession of a controlled substance (CS) was given a concurrent one year probation sentence. Charges of delivery and possession with intent to deliver were nol prossed.Jasper Poland, 31, of 108 Market St., Tamaqua, giving false identification to Pottsville police, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA and $50 to district attorney for bench warrant. On a charge of failing to have car insurance was fined $300 and costs. Poland was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey, on Oct. 14, 2009.Melissa Oriel, 37, of 242 W. Ridge St., Coaldale, violation of publilc welfare code, placed on probation 18 months, pay $50 to CJEA, $50 to district attorney for bench warrant, and make restitution of $2,960 to department of public welfare. Oriel was cited by Inspector General's Office.David John Swedo, 48, of 106 E. Jackson St., McAdoo, theft from a motor vehicle, placed on probation 12 month and pay $50 to CJEA. Swedo was cited by McAdoo Patrolman Joseph David, last June 13 and charged with entering car on East Grant Street.Keith Dean Kintzel, 28, Pottsville, burglary of a physician's office, was given credit for serving four days in the county prison and released on parole for 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA, make restitution of $246 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, $50 to district attorney's office for bench warrant, and $30 to Dr. Richard Hawley. On a charge of criminal mischief was fined $100 and court costs. Kintzel was cited by Pottsville Capt. Richard Wojciechowsky.Todd R. Gibson, 39, Minersville, harassment, fined $150 and costs. Charge of simple assault nol prossed. Gibson was cited by Minersville Patrolman Thomas Hoban, last Feb. 18.Ebony Marie Williams, 21, Pottsville, defiant trespass on private property, fined $100 and costs. He was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Brian Reno.Kristin Dian Hildebrand, 31, York, public drunkenness, fined $100 and costs. Charges of defiant trespass on private property and disorderly conduct nol prossed. Hildebrand was cited by Patrolman Jeffrey Bowers, Minersville police.Krissty Lynn Cress, 28, Girardville, receiving jewelry stolen from home at 433 E. Mahanoy Ave., Girardville, placed on probation 18 months, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $650 to Elizabeth Cress. She was cited by Trooper James Cuttitta last Dec. 21.Brian Evan Burns, 83, Frackville, driving under the influence (DUI), sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Dec. 4 at 9 a.m., pay a fine of $1,000, pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to CJEA, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend alcohol highway safe driving school and receive outpatient counseling. On a charge of disorderly conduct was fined $200 and serve a concurrent six months probation and on a charge of failing to drive on right side of road was fined $25 plus $63.50 costs. Burns was cited by Minersville Deputy Chief Ted Daniels, last May 22.Hollis Granville II, 34, Minersville, DUI, sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in county prison beginning Dec. 3 at 9 a.m., pay a fine of $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, and receive outpatient counseling. On a charge of driving while operating privileges were suspended was fined $200 plus $63.50 costs. Granville was cited Minersville Patrolman Thomas Hoban, last April 25.Christopher Stanley Prete, 22, Pottsville, giving false statement to Cass/Foster Townships police, placed on probation 12 months, pay a fine of $1,000, pay $50 to CJEA, and $50 to district attorney for bench warrant.James D. Wolfe Jr., 28, Schuylkill Haven, possession of drug paraphernalia, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA. Wolfe was cited by Minersville Patrolman Richard Clink, last April 16.Stephanie A. Chamberlin, 36, Pottsville, forgery of doctor's prescription, placed on probation 18 months, and pay $50 to CJEA. She was cited by Trooper Wesley Levan last Jan. 22 who claimed she tried to pass a forged prescription at a pharmacy at the Schuylkill Mall.Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
