Carbon County court

Judge Joseph J. Matika sentenced the following defendents:

Jermaine Jazz McLean

, 37, of Philadelphia, was sentenced to serve one to 12 months in the county prison on a charge of escape. He must also render 50 hours of community service.

He was arrested on June 16, 2015, along the turnpike by state police at the Pocono barracks.

McLean is currently an inmate in the Luzerne County prison, serving a term on unrelated charges and faces a state parole violation proceeding, which he said will mean more time in a state prison.

Matika ordered his sentence run concurrent with that in Luzerne County.

Brian Marshall Morris

, 34, of Easton, was sentenced to serve nine to one day less 24 months in the county prison on a charge of criminal trespass.

He was arrested on April 24, 2016, by Nesquehoning police for an incident in the 100 block of West Catawissa Street.

He was also ordered to supply a DNA sample, get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, render 75 hours of community service when paroled and have no contact with the victims.

He was given credit for 259 days already served.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole.
