The American Red Cross is urging eligible donors to give blood to help maintain a blood supply for the patients who depend on lifesaving transfusions.

Upcoming Red Cross blood donation opportunities in the area are:

• Sept. 28: Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono Cancer Center, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., 206 E. Brown St. East Stroudsburg.

• Oct. 3: Ashland, 1-6 p.m. Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 437 Airport Road.

• Oct. 4: Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono Cancer Center, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., 206 E. Brown St. East Stroudsburg.

• Oct. 11: Beaver Meadows, 1-6 p.m., Borough Hall, 100 E. Broad St.

• Oct. 15: Hazle Township, 1:30-6:30 p.m., The Laurel Mall, 106 Laurel Mall Drive.
