Police investigate thefts from cars in Chestnuthill

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating several cases involving thefts from motor vehicles.

• Police said someone entered a vehicle between 10 p.m. Sept. 20 and 7:25 a.m. Sept. 21 on the 700 block of Overview Terrace, Chestnuthill Township.

The Effort resident told police someone rummaged through the glove box and console before leaving the scene undetected.

In a second incident, police said they are investigating the theft of a firearm and wallet from car.

• The theft of a firearm and a wallet from a vehicle in Brodheadsville is being investigated by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks.

It occurred between 9:30 p.m. Sept. 18 and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 19 on the 300 block of Jessica Court, Brodheadsville.

Police said someone entered the unlocked vehicle that was parked outside the above residence and removed the items. Police said there were no signs of forced entry on the vehicle.

• A third case involves valuables that were theft from a motor vehicle between midnight and 7 a.m. Sept. 14 on the 400 block of Foothill Boulevard, Chestnuthill Township.

The Effort resident reported someone entered his 2012 GMC Sierra and stole an Apple Mac Book AR72, an iPad and $250.

• Another incident happened between midnight and 7 a.m. Sept. 14 on the 300 block of McKinley Drive, Chestnuthill Township.

The Effort resident said someone entered her 2009 Toyota Tacoma and stole fishing lures, five picket knives, a car battery pocket jump, two Maglite flashlights, $30 worth of scratch-off lottery tickets, prescription eyeglasses and three $1 bills.

• On Sept. 21, a resident of Twisted Oak Lane in Effort, reported someone took money, credit cards, ID cards and a firearm.

• At least two other incidents occurred on Keene Way. No property was taken from those vehicles.

Troopers are asking anyone with information regarding the incidents to call State Police at Fern Ridge at 570-646-2271.
