Heritage Hill man celebrates 95th birthday

Norman Krepshaw, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community, is celebrating his 95th birthday.

He was born in Shamokin on May 20, 1919. When he turned 13 he left school to work in the local coal mines.In his teenage years he met the love of his life, Mary Louise Fry.They were married on Jan. 2, 1940, in Saint Joseph's Church in Shamokin. They were married for 72 years until her passing in May of 2012.As the years passed, Norman started a dry cleaning/tailor business. In the early '70s he took a position with the Selinsgrove State School until his retirement in 1983.Norman says he never had any real hobbies, he enjoyed work.Yard work, house work, painting and most importantly, he loved beer. He always said "I never met a beer I didn't like."Norman is the father of three children, Doris Ann Kodak of Ranshaw, Charles F. Krepshaw of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Mikal Krepshaw of Elysburg.He has 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
