A total of nine defendants in pending criminal cases entered guilty pleas on Thursday in Carbon County court to driving under the influence and related charges.

President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II accepted the pleas from the following:Christopher J. West, 46, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested on Nov. 5, 2016, at 315 Center Ave., by Jim Thorpe police where his vehicle collided with a parked vehicle. A test revealed a 0.22 BAC.Sentencing was deferred so West can obtain a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation. At sentencing he faces a mandatory 30 days minimum in jail.David K. Brown Jr., 47, of Nesquehoning, was arrested on Nov. 19, 2015, along River Street by Jim Thorpe police after being involved in a rollover crash. A test revealed a 0.12 BAC.Sentencing was deferred so he can apply for the Intermediate Punishment Program - house arrest.Stanley Roland Kieffer, 31, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Oct. 9, 2015, along East Alley in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and apply for the IPP.Samantha Lynn Kuntz, 28, of Lehighton, was arrested on April 17, 2016, in the 900 block of Delaware Avenue by Palmerton police. She pleaded to driving under suspension - DUI related, and possession of drug paraphernalia.Sentencing was deferred because she had two pending criminal cases in Carbon and also pending criminal cases in Schuylkill County.Arthur Irvin Cotten, 37, of Ephrata, Lancaster County, was arrested on Oct. 22, 2013, by Lehighton police. A test revealed a 0.26 BAC.Sentencing was deferred. He is currently an inmate in the county prison on the charge.Amy Elizabeth Kichline, 31, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Oct. 8, 2016, along Young Circle in the Towamensing Trails development in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed a 0.15 BAC.She was sentenced to serve five days to six months in jail, a fine of $750 and a one-year license suspension.She will serve the sentence beginning at 7 p.m. May 19 and serve two days, at 7 p.m. May 26 and serve two days, and at 7 p.m. June 2 and serve one day.John Henry Potter III, 37, of Lehighton, was arrested on May 29, 2016, by state police at Lehighton along Route 209 in Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.16 BAC.He was sentenced to serve five days to six months in jail, a fine of $300 and one-year license suspension.He will begin the jail term at 6 p.m. May 18.Peter Devin Devine, 39, of Effort, was arrested on Jan. 31, 2016, by state police at Lehighton along Interchange Road in Towamensing Township. A test revealed a 0.17 BAC.Sentencing was deferred.Tammy Lynn Eismann, 52, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Jan. 15 along Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed a 0.12 BAC.A first offense, she was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300.Terrence Stephen Roberts, 27, of Lehighton, was arrested on Feb. 18 along Constitution Avenue by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred.Tahmir Edward Moment-Prease, 21, of Philadelphia, was arrested on Nov. 4, 2016, along Route 209 at Liberty Road in Jim Thorpe by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation. He is currently an inmate in the Montgomery County prison on a probation violation charge.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole and follow any recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
