For the second time this week a mistrial was declared during a jury trial in Carbon County court.

The trial of Michele Goodhile, 50, of Weissport, ended in a mistrial Thursday afternoon when the jury told presiding Judge Joseph J. Matika that they were deadlocked and unable to reach a verdict. He then declared a mistrial.Goodhile was charged by Lehighton police with theft of property lost or mistaken and receiving stolen property. She was charged for an incident on Feb. 23 when the U.S. Postal Service delivered a package for Crystal Lopez to the wrong address and where Goodhile resided. Goodhile later sold the item in the package at a local business.The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Brian B. Gazo and Goodhile was represented by attorney Adam R. Weaver, who was court-appointed. The commonwealth will now decide whether it wants to continue its prosecution of the case.On Tuesday in the drug trial of Eldin Jose Rubio De Los Santos, 31, of Allentown, President Judge Roger N. Nanovic had to declare a mistrial Wednesday evening after the jury said they were deadlocked. The trial began on Tuesday. The commonwealth will have to decide if it wants to continue with the prosecution of the case.Not guiltyIn the final jury trial of the week Joseph Lewis Moyer Sr., 63, of Lansford, was found not guilty of driving under the influence of a controlled substance following a one-day trial on Thursday.He was charged with the offense by state police at Lehighton for an incident on Jan. 1.After the jury's verdict was announced, Nanovic found him guilty of two summary offenses of driving under suspension and fined his $250 and costs because of prior offenses, and $25 and costs for not using a turn signal.
