Nesquehoning Hose Company announced Monday afternoon that a burn ban has been issued for the borough of Nesquehoning.

“We ask all residents to take this notice seriously and refrain from burning while the ban is active,” the fire company’s post states.

It also provided fire safety reminders for residents, including:

• Do not burn leaves, brush, trash, or other materials.

• Avoid open burning and outdoor fires while the ban is in effect.

• Properly dispose of cigarettes and other smoking materials.

• Never leave any fire unattended.

• Be mindful of dry conditions and anything that could cause a fire to spread.

“Fire safety is everyone’s responsibility,” the post states. “A small spark can quickly turn into a dangerous situation. Thank you for helping keep our community, homes, and families safe.
