State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a five-vehicle crash about 10:55 a.m. on Tuesday in the borough of Cressona.
Troopers said the crash occurred at the intersection of Route 183 (Chestnut Street), and Second Street.William Griffin, 81, of Schuylkill Haven, driving a 2000 Subaru Outback, was turning left onto 183 from Second while Richard C. Zimmerman, 52, of Cressona, driving a 2000 Nissan Maxima, was southbound on 183. Zachary J. Palmer, 31, of Schuylkill Haven, driving a 1998 Buick Century was stopped in traffic along with Kimberly A. Schlissel, 55, of Schuylkill Haven, driving a Chrysler 300, and Stephanie F. Julian, 29, of Schuylkill Haven, driving a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander, behind her.Troopers said Griffin turned into traffic and struck the rear driver side quarter panel on the Maxima. The Maxima turned slightly counter-clockwise and struck the rear driver quarter panel on the Century. The Maxima continued forward and struck the front end of the Chrysler. That impact pushed the Chrysler into the front end of the Outlander.No injuries were reported. The Maxima and Outlander had to be towed.Griffin was cited for the crash.
