Entertainment around the area

Deana Carter, celebrating the 30th anniversary of her debut album, leads the entertainment highlights coming to local and regional venues over the next couple of weeks.

The country singer, whose debut “Did I Shave My Legs For This?” arrived in September 1996, plays Penn’s Peak.

Carter, in July, released a 30th anniversary dance mix of breakout hit “Strawberry Wine.” The Peak’s music lineup also includes Mark Farner’s American Band and Candlebox.

Among other entertainment highlights, The Grand Slambovian Halloween Ball returns to Mauch Chunk Opera House. Fans of “The Price is Right,” meanwhile, may want to “come on down” to Wind Creek Event Center for a live version of the classic game show.
