State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 79-year-old Gilbert man is the victim of a Dog Law violation that took place at 1:49 p.m. Oct. 5 on Interchange Road, Polk Township.
Police said he reported an unleashed dog was wandering on his private residential/business property.
• Police said over $18,000 worth of items were stolen in a residential burglary that occurred between Sept. 26 and noon Oct. 1 at a property on Little Gap Road, Lower Towamensing Township.
They said the victim, a 60-year-old woman from Palmyra, New Jersey, reported someone forced entry into a separate garage and stole the items.
• Police said a 53-year-old man from Kunkletown is the victim of a criminal mischief incident that occurred between 5 and 11:30 p.m. Sept. 25 on Pohopoco Drive, Towamensing Township.
He told police his mailbox and its post were removed from the ground, dragged across the roadway and dumped in a wooded area across from his residence.
• A 34-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 11:54 a.m. Sept. 22.
He was stopped in a 2001 Toyota Solara for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Lincoln Avenue, Bowmanstown.
• Police responded to an incident at 9:07 p.m. Sept. 21 at the intersection of Cortright and West Ridge streets, Lansford.
They said they were dispatched there for a large street fight, but did not find a fight taking place.
Police said one of the parties who had been involved in the incident then called for police assistance, but police later learned the called had instigated the fight.
Police said the incident was cleared due to denial of prosecution.
• Police said a bicycle was reported stolen at 8:52 a.m. Sept. 21.
The victim, a 41-year-old Palmerton woman, said the bicycle was stolen from White Street, Bowmanstown.
• Police are investigating the theft of six propane tanks from a locked storage container in East Penn Township.
They said the theft was reported at 7:59 a.m. Sept. 12 at the Dollar General store, West Lizard Creek Road.
• About $5,000 worth of copper wire was reported stolen at 10:33 a.m. Sept. 1 from a property on Interchange Road, Towamensing Township.
Police said the victim is Verizon Communications, New York, New York.
They said the copper wire was “cut down” at the property.
• Police are investigating the theft of a 2003 Ford Taurus X from a property on Interchange Road, Towamensing Township.
The victim is a 47-year-old man from New York, New York.
• Police said used grease was stolen from property at the Bowmanstown Diner, East White Street, Bowmanstown, resulting in the arrest of a 37-year-old man from the Bronx, New York.
They said a white rental vehicle operated by two males entered the parking lot of the diner between 4:45 and 5:02 a.m. Aug. 14 and took the grease.
• Police are investigating the theft of farm equipment from a property on Kunkletown Road, Ross Township.
They said it was reported at 8:58 p.m. July 9 by the victim, a 51-year-old Saylorsburg man.
