State police at Fern Ridge - crashes
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:
• John H. Williams, 34, of Jim Thorpe, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a one-vehicle crash at 4:29 p.m. Sept. 24 on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2020 Subaru Outback when he attempted to turn left while leaving a service station parking lot. The car left the roadway on the west side and overturned, police said, coming to rest on its roof.
Police said Williams was administered field sobriety testing and was taken into custody after the results indicated that he was impaired.
He was taken into custody and transported to the police barracks, where he was processed and released.
The Outback was towed from the scene.
• Ashlynn R. Steinhauer, 20, of Kunkletown, had suspected minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 12:41 p.m. Sept. 11 at the intersection of the Gilbert Road and Kresge Farm Road in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the West End Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.
Police said she was driving a 2024 Volkswagen Taos when she turned from Gilbert Road onto Kresge Farm Road while failing to yield to a 2004 Ford F-250 driven by Gianna Ferrara, 19, of Effort, resulting in the F-250 striking the Volkswagen.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Steinhauer was issued a written warning for entering or crossing a roadway, while Ferrara was issued a written warning for operating a vehicle without a valid inspection.
• Vincent J. Lambroia, 19, of Jackson, New Jersey, sustained suspected minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 3:01 p.m. Sept. 29 on Jonas Road, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said he did not require an emergency medical services transport from the scene.
They said he was driving a 2020 Hyundai Tucson west when he became distracted and the vehicle left the roadway, striking a cement culvert and rolling over onto the travel lane.
Lambroia was cited after the crash, according to police.
The Tucson was towed from the scene.
• Daniel R. Kononczuk, 49, of Pocono Summit, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:49 a.m. Sept. 30 on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township.
Police said he was driving a 2025 Ram truck south when it struck a deer that had entered its path.
