October 3, 1975 — Tamaqua uses a strong defensive effort to help gain a 21-7 victory over Mahanoy Area. The Blue Raiders, coached by Walt Ligenza, use a blocked punt to set up one score, return a fumble for a touchdown and thwart a scoring attempt by the Bears that ends at the 2-yard line. Dave Rascavage blocks a Mahanoy punt deep in their territory in the second quarter that leads to Frank Inama’s 1-yard touchdown run that ties the score. Later in the frame, Bob Clemson reaches the end zone on an 11-yard run. Inama, who finishes with a team-high 76 yards rushing, extends the advantage when he strips the quarterback on a sack and races 55 yards for a TD.
