The Carbon County Conservation District announced the winners of its annual awards that will be presented at its 35th annual dinner program.

David E. Henritzy, Lehighton R.5, will be presented the farmer of the year award; Albert M. Lichty, Weissport, has been selected to be the conservationist of the year; Joseph Boyce, Andreas, will be presented an award for outstanding achievement in forestry; and the Lehigh Canal Recreation Commission, represented by Reuben Hill, Franklin Township, will be named conservation organization of the year.

Participants in the program will be Joseph L. Boyle, Jim Thorpe, master of ceremonies; the Rev. James R. Laubach, Palmerton, who will ask the invocation and pronounce benediction; and John Bitzer, Monroe County district forester, who will be the main speaker.
