Tamaqua police said they charged a woman after several videos of her taking people’s property appeared recently on social media.

Jennifer Dipietro, 43, no known address, faces charges of theft by unlawful taking, criminal trespass and public drunkenness.

According to police, videos posted to the Tamaqua Area Public Forum on Facebook on Sept. 17 show a woman, later identified as Dipietro, taking a mum from a North Railroad Street property, a pair of shoes from a property on West Spruce Street and tomatoes from a garden on Lafayette Street.

Officers found Dipietro on a porch on the unit block of Center Street and took her into custody. While in the back of the patrol car, police said Dipietro continued to yell about the military and “other nonsense.”

Dipietro also was charged from an incident that occurred less than a week earlier.

She faces public drunkenness and disorderly conduct charges in that case after a disturbance was reported in the area of the Tamaqua Area Administration Building on the afternoon of Sept. 11, police said.

Dipietro was found yelling on the corner of North Nescopeck Street and was not making sense, police said. She kept saying the “home invasion and FBI” were stalking her, police said.

She denied using any illegal substances, but appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was taken into custody, police said.
