In other action, Pleasant Valley’s boys soccer team and Northern Lehigh’s field hockey squad both posted wins.

Cole Clark earned his sixth shutout as Pleasant Valley earned a 1-0 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over visiting Allentown Central Catholic.

Clark stopped all five shots taken at the PV net, while teammate Richon Russ registered the game’s only goal in the second half.

Russ set up Jasper Porter on Monday in a 1-0 win over PM East, and this time Porter assisted Russ in another 1-0 contest.

The Blue Raiders and Spartans finished knotted at 2-2 after regulation.

Aidan Elston and Brody Schlier both scored and assisted each other on their goals.

Earlier this season, the two teams played to a scoreless tie.

The Vikings jumped out to a first-half advantage with three goals, and limited the Bears to just three shots in the contest.

PV’s Haley Ott was busy in net, making 16 saves.

Weatherly’s Mikayla Pugh set a new course record in a quad meet at Mahanoy Area. She also helped her squad post a pair of victories.

Pugh paced the field in a time of 21:55 to break the previous record set by Felicia Bro. Emma Moyer was fourth (22:47), and Mikayla Kuntz was sixth (23:12) in the top 10.

In the boys’ race, Blue Mountain’s Quinnon Tremadglia was the top finisher in 19:07, and the Eagles had four finishers in the top 10. Alex Best led Weatherly’s runners with a seventh-place finish in 19:48.

Tamaqua’ Aidan Elston and Peyton O’Brien paced Tamaqua in a tri-meet with Tri-Valley at Pottsville.

The Blue Raider boys team notched a victory over Pottsville, while the girls posted wins over Pottsville and Tri-Valley.

Elston, who clocked a 18:15, had plenty of company in the top 10 with teammates Parker Steencken, second, 18:45; Memphis Kline, third, 19:10; Kevin Lawfer, fourth, 20:24; Hunter Steencken, fifth, 21:31; Luis Sanchez, sixth, 21:41 and Terran Wakefield, 10th, 23:37.
