Tamaqua police reported on the following incidents:

• A Coaldale man was jailed on assault and drug charges following a 5:31 p.m. Sept. 8 incident.

According to police, officers were called a domestic incident on East Foster Avenue and spoke to a man who said that Thomas Faenza, 57, punched him in the eye. While inside, police saw drug paraphernalia and spoke to Faenza, who denied hitting the man.

Officers, who were given consent to search the home, said they found 2.63 grams of a substance that tested positive as methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia.

Police were dispatched to the home a few hours later, and the man reported that Faenza punched him and threw him against a wall. Officers said the man was bleeding from his nose and arm.

Police charged Faenza with simple assault, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Christian Lengel and sent to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $5,000 percentage bail.

• A homeless woman who was yelling at trees was cited for disorderly conduct by police.

Officers were sent to Willing Park around 6:45 p.m. Sept. 6 for a report of a woman yelling at trees and people. Police heard the woman, Jennifer Dipietro, 43, yelling as she sat on a bench and children played nearby. Police attempted to calm her down but she continued to yell and scream and said she was upset because she was kicked out of a nearby store.

• Police charged Hannah Winter, 22, of Tamaqua, with simple assault, public drunkenness and harassment following a domestic incident the evening of Sept. 7.

Police were called to Spruce and Center streets for a fight in progress and saw Winter and a man in the middle of the street. The two were taken into custody. Police learned that Winters had a verbal argument with the man’s mother and when she tried to leave, the man attempted to stop her.

Police said Winter admitted to hitting, pushing and attempting to choke the man.
