State police at Fern Ridge

State police at Fern Ridge reported the following incidents:

• A 30-year-old man from Effort was cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to Lakeside Drive, Chestnuthill Township, at 9 p.m. Aug. 4.

Police said a 10-year-old girl from Kunkletown told them that the man, using a cellphone, struck her twice in the head following an argument.

• Christopher Magyar, 46, of Belvidere, New Jersey, is facing drug possession charges after police made a traffic stop at 11:53 a.m. July 25.

Police said he was stopped in a 2025 Nissan for traffic violations in the 1400 block of Route 209, Chestnuthill Township. A search of the vehicle yielded illegal narcotics.

• Police responded to a Protection From Abuse court order violation at 8:29 p.m. Aug. 5 on Hickory Lane, Chestnuthill Township.

Police told the victim to fill out an indirect criminal complaint and forward it to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
