Hayden W. Evans of Lansford was credited with “capability and respectability” in his service to the Carbon County Probation Office in the courthouse at Jim Thorpe.

Evans, a veteran county employee, was honored at a testimonial dinner held at Trainer’s Inn, Franklin Township.

Attorney W. Joseph Engler, Jim Thorpe, adult probation officer, credited his deputy with outstanding performance and told more than 40 people it attendance, “Your presence here tonight is evidence of the esteem and admiration in which you hold him.”

Judge Albert Heimbach praised Evans’ work performance, saying he “did a tremendous job,” and Judy Fatzinger, office manager, presented the honoree with a money tree gift in behalf of his co-workers.
