Carbon County will honor the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the country on Friday.
County employees will gather at Josiah White Park in Jim Thorpe for the 9:15 a.m. Sept. 11 service.
Commissioner Wayne Nothstein urged all to attend at least one service that will be occurring throughout the county, if they cannot make this one because it is important to remember the lives lost to the attacks.
“(Schools) are trying to educate the students that weren’t even born yet about the significance of that attack and how it affected everyone,” he said.
Nothstein noted that most of the services will talk about the sacrifices first responders and Americans made as a result of the attacks on American soil.
