A Weissport man has waived charges to county court after he allegedly smashed a window during a dispute in Weissport.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Matthew Lento of the Pennsylvania State Police, Lehighton barracks, in the case against Jahmir Spencer:

At 8:40 a.m. Aug. 23, Lento was dispatched to an apartment in the 200 block of Franklin Street for a domestic incident.

Lento spoke with a woman who said that her ex-boyfriend, Spencer, 27, arrived at her residence and came in to get some of his belongings and ask the woman’s friend for a cigarette.

After Spencer left the residence, the woman said that Spencer broke the rear glass window of her rental vehicle, which was parked at the front of her residence, and kicked the front door several times, causing damage to the door frame.

The woman left the residence and said Spencer broke a window of the residence.

The woman said that when Spencer broke the window of the residence, glass covered her 2-year-old son who was seated on the couch in the living room.

Lento said there was a large amount of glass on the couch where the 2-year-old was sitting.

Lento said the 2-year-old was only wearing a diaper, and had a small scratch on the back of his head. He was evaluated by members of Lehighton Ambulance on the scene.

State police from Lehighton noted they have had several interactions with Spencer regarding domestic disturbances at the residence and that Spencer was verbally warned if there were any other incidents at the residence he would be charged with persistent disorderly conduct.

Spencer faces charges on three counts of criminal mischief; two counts each of simple assault and harassment; and one count each of endangering welfare of children and disorderly conduct.

He is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 cash bail and awaiting formal arraignment, which is set for Nov. 9.
