September 9, 2011 — A huge game from Robert Getz powers Pleasant Valley to a 40-37 victory over visiting Honesdale. Getz collects 351 yards of offense, rushing for 211 on 23 carries while also catching three passes for 140 more. The biggest three yards, though, come late in the game with the Bears trailing. After losing the lead with 1:42 to play, PV drives 80 yards for the go-ahead and eventual winning touchdown. Getz starts the match with a 32-yard run and also goes 43 yards with a screen pass to set up his 3-yard jaunt to the end zone. Getz ends with four scores. The Bears, coached by Jim Terwilliger, also receive a TD catch from Sekou Jones and another from Hiram Woodruff.
