Heffely, Argall host senior expo Wednesday

Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) and Sen. Dave Argall (R-Carbon/Schuylkill/Luzerne) are again co-hosting their annual Senior Citizens Expo to give residents access to many businesses and services available to them.

The expo will take place on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company, 2440 Fairyland Road, Lehighton.

“This expo is a great opportunity for our senior citizens to connect with the many programs, services and resources available to them right here in Carbon County,” Heffley said. “Navigating all of the support can be overwhelming. I’m glad to work with Sen. Argall to host this event so our seniors can have access to the information they need in one convenient location.”

“There’s no better place to go if you’re looking for information about senior programs,” Argall said. “We’ll have representatives from dozens of services to answer any question you may have.”

The expo will feature over 50 exhibitors from the Carbon County area presenting information on their programs and services. Attendees will also have access to free vaccines, lunch and door prizes.

The legislators will also be collecting non-perishable food items during the event to donate to a local food bank and ask everyone who attends to consider bringing an item.

Heffley also advises residents that all his local offices will be closed on Wednesday. Offices will reopen on Thursday at 9 a.m., except for the Lansford office, which is open on Wednesdays only.
