Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. Note there will be no First Saturday worship this month. Licensed Lay Minister Kathy Long presides.

Church initiatives:

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

Trinity Thrift Store is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and Saturday. Cash only sales. Donations of clothing and household goods will be accepted during store hours. There is a five bag limit. Use door 2 to bring clothing inside.

Looking ahead:

Weekly Sunday Church School for students ages 3 through grade 6 begins Sept. 13 at 10:45 a.m. with rally day activities. A Fall Kickoff picnic for all follows in Luther Hall. Please bring toilet tissue as a donation to the pantry.

Weekly events:

Sunday School: Sunday School for children and youth every Sunday at 11 a.m., except the first Sunday of the month.

AWANA — Kids Bible Club: The new sessions take place at 6 p.m. on Sept. 2. Register at https://christfc.net/awana-bible-club.

Sister Chix: A support group for widows and divorced women, is held the last Sunday of each month at noon. Bring a lunch, but dessert will be provided. To attend, call Jillian at 484-464-3332.

Men’s Bible Workshop: First and third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Lower parking entrance.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: Second Saturday of each month from 9-11 a.m. Lower parking lot entrance.

Food Pantry: Takes place the third Saturday of the month from 9-11 a.m. Please bring a driver’s license or some other form of ID.
