Eurana Park in Weatherly was the setting for the annual Weatherly Festival this past Friday and Saturday. This year, the festival was also a time to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of America.

In keeping with the theme, the festival committee held a vendor decorating contest along with the festival, encouraging them to decorate in an American250 patriotic theme.

The festival is a true community event, bringing out men, women, and children of all ages to enjoy the food, games, activities, and rides set up throughout the park Friday evening, and Saturday afternoon and evening.

The vendors were also representative of groups and organizations from Weatherly.

For instance, the Weatherly American Legion Auxiliary Post 360 was selling Persian donuts as well as stuffing and gravy.

Other food vendors at the festival included Cub Pack 007 from Weatherly, selling various quick breads such as banana bread, blueberry, zucchini, and more. They also were selling cutting boards and other items.

Salem United Church of Christ from Weatherly was selling “heavenly fries” with different toppings.

The Flying Aces Motorcycle Club of Rockport was selling hot sandwiches. The Weatherly School Classes of 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030 had stand selling various food and drinks.

“We’re selling snacks and some drinks to raise money for our class trip,” explained Forrest Clark of the Weatherly School Class of 2030.

Citizens’ Fire Company helped coordinate the corn hole tournament. Volleyball games were held at the park’s volleyball court. There was a bounce house and obstacle course set up for the children. The festival committee had a basket auction and raffles, and there was a beer tent.

“I like pretty much everything here,” Lina Gregory of Weatherly pointed out.

“My favorite thing at the festival is seeing everyone from town here and enjoying themselves,” said Judy Desrosiers and Mel Zacharias from the Weatherly American Legion Post 360.

The Ferris Wheel was a popular item, provided by AEB Amusements of Easton. Beverly Moser from Lehighton took a ride along with Ruth, one of the members of the Festival Committee.

“I love it,” Beverly Moser of Lehighton said after riding the Ferris Wheel. “We were on it last (Friday) night, too. That was really neat!”

Musical entertainment included Kartune on Friday; DJ Rockin’ Ray, and Guilty Pleasures, on Saturday.
