State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Jackie Boyle, 48, of Willow Grove, was injured after a four-vehicle crash at 2:10 p.m. on Aug. 14 at the Lehigh Tunnel in East Penn Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley ambulance to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

They said the crash occurred near mile marker 71.6 when Jennifer C. Inners, 54, of Wyomissing, was driving a 2016 Mazda CX9 northbound and was traveling too fast during heavy rains and congested traffic.

Police said the Mazda struck a 2024 Honda CRV driven by Darrell S. Sehlin, 57, of Doylestown, which caused a 2018 Honda CRV driven by Boyle to strike the Mazda and a 2025 Chevrolet Express operated by Ronald J. Yurko, 55, of Exeter.

Sehlin and Yurko’s vehicles had minor damage and came to rest on the right shoulder of the road outside the tunnel. The vehicles operated by Inners and Boyle had disabling damage and were towed out of the tunnel, police said.

Inners was cited for careless driving, according to police.

• Four vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction crash at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 21 at mile marker 71.5 in East Penn Township. No one was hurt in the pileup, which caused minor damage to the vehicles.

It involved a 2015 Ford F-150, a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe, a 2017 GMC Yukon and a 2023 Audi SQ5, all of which were able to be driven from the scene, according to police.

No other details were provided.

• Police were called to a hit-and-run at 7:55 a.m. on Aug. 22 at the Hickory Run Service Plaza in Penn Forest Township.

They said the operator of a 2016 Honda Pilot was backing up the vehicle, became distracted and lost control of vehicle, which struck an unoccupied 2017 GMC Yukon and then left the scene.

The Yukon had minor damage, police said.

• A 2004 Toyota Tundra sustained two flat tires when it struck a large rock in the roadway at 8:56 p.m. on Aug. 23. It happened at mile marker 67.5 in Washington Township.

No other details were provided.
