Police responded Wednesday night to a threat on the East Stroudsburg University campus.

At 7:47 p.m., the Pennsylvania State Police Troop N Stroudsburg Station received a 911 call stating there was an “active shooter” at East Stroudsburg University Campus, East Stroudsburg Borough.

A multitude of state and municipal police departments immediately responded and arrived at the campus along with East Stroudsburg University Police Department. Through investigative means, the campus was cleared by police and no signs of an active shooter event having taken place were present.

There is currently no threat on campus at East Stroudsburg University.

The investigation is ongoing by the Pennsylvania State Police Troop N Stroudsburg Station, in conjunction with the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
