Four area golf teams posted wins on Monday.

Earning victories were Palmerton and Northwestern in the Colonial League, and Tamaqua and Weatherly in Schuylkill League play.

Palmerton-Jim Thorpe

Jared Grammes fired a 72 to earn medalist honor and help lead Palmerton to a 428-602 Colonial League victory over Jim Thorpe in its season opener.

The Blue Bombers also received an impressive 78 from Joey Solt, while Tucker DeSousa and Colton Becker both contributed 88s.

Four Northwestern golfers registered scores in the 70s to gain a 387-438 Colonial League win over Moravian Academy.

Cole Dynda led the way for the Tigers with a 73, while Mason Malosh and Jake Kozlowski both posted 77s.

Wagner Stracco also broke 80 by carding a 79.

Sophomore Sam Vinc earned medalist honors by putting up a score 74.

The Blue Raiders also received two other scores in the 80s with Brody Boyle carding an 86, and Jacob Fritzinger chipping in with an 89.

Chance Stauffer had the day’s low score with a 77, while teammate Jacob Hinkle fired a 79.

Eli Brown chipped in with an 82 for the Wreckers.
